Mashiro 2.0 Is Here!

That’s right folks, Mashiro 2.0 is live! I need to update the packlist actually.. just /lazy.

So what does that mean for the IRC server? Well, I honestly have been pretty busy the last few days, especially with some unexpected expenses I wasn’t counting on, so I had to get those taken care of. With them out of the way, I’ll be able to focus on getting the IRC stuff transferred over. I’m also going to do some much needed updates as well, but I won’t divulge that info since its mostly just internal stuff and operator-related things. That’s the bit that will take most of my time.

I’ll make an update when I have more info available to give.

BTW, back this already: Kodomo no Jikan is coming! =P

New Server Inbound!

Alright, so honestly I did forget to make another post saying the server was back up. It was a few hours after I made my original post but basically what happened was the NIC died, as well as something potentially on the motherboard I think. Thankfully, no data was lost.

Now onto some other news. I’ll have more details at a later date, however… y’all will like it. I purchased a new server and over the next week, data migration will occur, I’ll need to reconfigure the IRC server and all that (fun stuff, so we’ll be down to just the LoliFox server temporarily), and also get the bot configured again and such. It’ll be a little time consuming, but it’ll work out in the end.

I’m going to leave out a major piece of info until after I get the server up and going with a working bot and such. Again, to transfer some odd 7.5 TB of data is going to take some time to complete.

Server Went Bye-Bye

Yeah, not in my control either. Not sure what failed though, but I’ve already sent in a ticket about it. I’ll come back and edit this later when I have more updates to post. But as of this time, the server is dead and isn’t coming back for a little bit. I don’t have an ETA right now but I’m hoping it’ll be back up in the next day or two.

On a slightly related note, I have plans for later which I’ll reveal at a later date.

Still Here!

Yeah, we’re still around. Not dead at the moment. Me personally, I’ve just been busy with work the past few months now and all that. Servers are still up and welcome for anyone to join in. Course, I noticed some spam comments and what appeared legit, but from the wording and the posts that were commented on seem out of place, so they’ve been removed.

NickServ Tutorial Revision

So, thought I’d let y’all know that I did a little revision of the tutorial for NickServ. This is because of one major change that was done: NickServ Accounts.

When I updated the services, I decided to change from nickname ownership to account-based to be easier to identify to a single account, instead of a name. This should also make it a bit easier for those who just want one vhost across all of their nicks, but I haven’t explored much into that bit.

I have more changes coming, and I am planning to do a small re-format of the BotServ page, and ChanServ is getting some additional notes on a brand new system that was introduced for managing access rights in channels: Flags. This will mean that not only will the xOP and ACCESS systems remain, but a third one is introduced. I will have more information regarding those in the future. It’ll take me a while to find a bit of time to get all of this done, but the NickServ revision is the beginning.
