Luna Update

Mk, I'm going to use this post in particular to detail out any particular updates.

Alright, first to set things straight. Yesterday was interesting because the provider restarted the server, so.. that would be why for the odd downtime. So, that wasn't the actual move. They are still configuring hardware for the actual move to occur, and when this is finished they will send out an email in one week of notice.

Original article via this link.

Updates will be followed in this topic here.

Finally got a good date for the move.

December 28 is the day Luna may or may not go offline, at least for the backend area I need to recompile things and such. The time it'll occur will be around 11 PM Central, 12 AM Eastern. I'll have to update IP's and such, so the DNS could get a little weird in the meantime. Later in the week, I'll recompile LoliFox and Ganymede for IPv6 reading and go from there.

So, today is the 28th. Guess what, last night I received an email regarding the migration and.... we gotta wait again. Its been pushed back to this Friday pending some other deal going on right now. Other than that, that's about it for now.

I love delays. Anyway, this should be the last one. January 2nd, at midnight, it should migrate from then. No timezone was specified, so it could be midnight somewhere in the states, or via GMT. I'm not sure... Oh well.

FINALLY! Luna is back online for everyone to use! I couldn't get it on last night due to no SSL support, and I use SSL transport communication between the servers for security and to make sure I know exactly what's being connected. Without SSL, I couldn't do anything.

Luckily, I won't have to mess around with the DNS system, so the same IP is valid for the server. irc.shadowhime.net will work eventually, and luna.shadowhime.net is functional to connect to the server directly.

This was quite a turbulent time... Being down as long as it was isn't necessarily a good thing, but.. it all worked out in the end. This should be the last post I need to make regarding Luna for the time being.
