Twitter Feed

Alright then, this might make some of y’all happy. If you notice to the right, I have a twitter feed. No joke, I do have a twitter account now. I don’t plan to use it terribly often, but for quick things, it’ll get the job done. You are welcome to follow if you wish, there is no real need, but the choice is yours. I plam to use it for both here and my YouTube account unless it gets wildly popular somehow… in which case I’ll just open a separate account for that and go from there.

Before you ask, no I haven’t received any updates regarding the server move. I will make a post regarding that, so don’t worry.

Luna Update

Mk, I’m going to use this post in particular to detail out any particular updates.

Alright, first to set things straight. Yesterday was interesting because the provider restarted the server, so.. that would be why for the odd downtime. So, that wasn’t the actual move. They are still configuring hardware for the actual move to occur, and when this is finished they will send out an email in one week of notice.

Now for the second thing. I put in a request for an IPv6 address, and so help me if I can figure it out. XD An IPv4 will still be available, so don’t worry. LoliFox and Ganymede will not be IPv6 compatible, fair reference, so if y’all want to use IPv6, you must use Luna via luna.shadowhime.net. It will require me recompiling all the servers to at least recognize the new protocol as I don’t believe I had done that.

So what will this mean? Well, not much. I can’t utilize IPv6, so I’m unable to actually test it out to make sure its working. I think I have a friend who could help though in this endeavor. Something I’ll ask when I see him around. Y’all must be thinking I’m nuts, but hey, I like a challenge that gets my brain thinking for once. XP Anywho… stay tuned for updates.

Server Change

Looks like Luna is getting a server move. When, I don’t know. The original provider had sold the original servers to a new one, and thus the server will be moved to a new datacenter. Now this is what that will mean. 1. There is a new DDoS mitigation filter on it, so the random downtime from before won’t be as bad as it had been at one point. 2. We’re going to be deciding about staying with them or not from the move. Not sure what’s going to happen about that right now. 3. There may be a slight downtime of Luna as I would have to reconfigure the server again to get things back up and running.

When I get word about when this move will occur, I may shut down Luna before hand, wait for the move, get things configured again, and get it back up. How long this will take, I’m not so sure right now. Too many variables right now to list to give any accurate time line.

Changes in Staff

I hate doing these, I really do. You bring someone on, then later on, changes need to be made due to inactivity or whatever…

EvilEntity and WingZero0079 have both been dropped as network staff mostly due to inactivity on the network. Idling is one thing, but engaging in convos when possible is another. I have left their info in the config files until I change my mind, but for the time being, I most likely won’t. I might reinstate WingZero’s if the network gets more activity here, but EvilEntity hasn’t really been connecting as it is. (What’s in the userlist for those who do see is actually a BNC I set up for him.)

For the time being, there will only be 3 staff members. Your two network owners, and Soultaker. We’ll be around at various times of the day if anyone needs any help, or you may post on the forum if necessary.

Ganymede Port Update

This won’t get a forum post, since its just a minor thing. After a lot of mucking around, Soultaker finally decided to just get a second IP and modem for the server to use, so now all of the necessary ports are opened for IRC. So, for those who want to use SSL for it, 6697 and 9999 both work fine, so you may use either one. Or the standard ports work fine too, up to you on how you connect to the server.

SMF and WP Bridged!

Looked around, looked some more.. did a little reading, and finally got the two bridged together.

Still a few bugs here and there, but for now, its working alright. Y’all can still comment anonymously if you wish, but if you want to be logged in when commenting, you’ll need an account via the forum, and it’ll be created for WordPress. You login through the forum to be logged into the account on WordPress. So far its working pretty well.

I’ll keep updated if needed.
