IdleRPG Information

Basic Information

Get to know the IdleRPG bot!

IdleRPG is a very simple game in which players idle in the channel while the system itself takes care of the rest. The basic part of the game is that it’s all a big dice roll. So, it is very possible that a level 100 can be beaten by a level 10 person. It’s all just pure chance. There are also random occurrences that will push you to your next level, or you could be held back. Also, if there are at least two good players online, then at random times, these two players (randomly selected usually) will be praying to their god that nothing has happened to them and be pushed forward to the next level. The same goes true for the Evil alignment. Neutral has no real perks. Speaking of alignment, let’s talk about that next.

Alignments

Which should I choose? Good, Neutral, or Evil?

Each alignment has their ups and downs, so we’ll discuss them here.

Good – People who align on the “Good” side will get a 10% item sum boost (meaning, you have a slightly higher chance of getting higher leveled items). They also get a 1/12 chance of teaming up with a friend (also along the “Good” side) will have the light of god shine on them, pushing them 5-12% towards the next level. During battle, Good players have a 1/50 chance of landing a critical strike.

Neutral – Neutral has no real benefits or downfalls.

Evil – The side of evil gives a 10% detriment in item sum, however, they do have a 1/8 chance that they will steal from a “Good” player. Neutral players are not affected by this. They also can be forsaken 1-5% of their Time To Level (TTL) by their evil god. During battle, Evil users have a 1/20 chance of landing a critical strike, as they typically fight dirty.

Quests

What about quests though?

Quests are determined by the system itself. Four players will be chosen at random, must be at least level 40, have been idling for more than 10 hours. If all players make it to the end of the quest, 25% of their TTL will be removed at the end of the quest. However, during the quest, NO user must be penalized for anything, such as changing their nickname, quitting, parting, or sending any sort of message within the IdleRPG channel. There are also two kinds of quests, Time-based and Grid-based. Timed quests can last from 12 hours to 24 hours at a time. Grid quests are set on a grid, have no set-time completion, but rather must reach certain points on the map. This is all automated, so you don’t need to do anything on your part. If the quest is not completed, ALL of the users participating will be penalized with a p15.

Penalties

What’s with all of the penalties?

Penalties happen when you change your nick, send a message in the channel, quit, part the channel, logout from IdleRPG, or things like that. Here is a small table of each of the values.

Nick change 30*(1.14^(YOUR_LEVEL))
Part 200*(1.14^(YOUR_LEVEL))
Quit 20*(1.14^(YOUR_LEVEL))
LOGOUT command 20*(1.14^(YOUR_LEVEL))
Being Kicked 250*(1.14^(YOUR_LEVEL))
Channel privmsg [message_length]*(1.14^(YOUR_LEVEL))
Channel notice [message_length]*(1.14^(YOUR_LEVEL))

The formula works like this. Let’s say a user who is level 30 gets penalized with a nick change, the formula would like like this: 30*(1.1430) = 1528.5 seconds added to the time to the next level.
If somewhere were to send a message in the channel (we’ll use a hypothetical number, and it does include spaces), the formula would like something like this: 127*(1.1430) = 6470.67 seconds would be added to the user.

Various Commands

Alright, I get it now, but what about all the commands?

Registering

To register, use this command: /msg IdleRPG REGISTER [character name] [password] [class]
Example: /msg IdleRPG REGISTER TwinShadow password White Fire Cat Demon
As you can see, the character class can support spaces. Just make sure that it’s no more than 30 characters.

Logging In

Command: /msg IdleRPG LOGIN [name] [password]
This is the character name itself, not your actual nickname. (that you use for the IRC)

Logging Out

Command: /msg IdleRPG LOGOUT [name]
In here, there is no need to enter your password, just the character name itself.

Changing Passwords

Command: /msg IdleRPG NEWPASS [new password]
Note: It is best to try and contact an admin for IdleRPG via /msg IdleRPG INFO. If no one is on, then you can try sending a message to an operator in the #help channel.

Account Removal

Command: /msg IdleRPG REMOVEME
Only issue this if your certain you do not wish to play anymore. This is irreversible and you will not be able to recover your information.

Changing Alignment

Command: /msg IdleRPG ALIGN [good|neutral|evil]
Example: /msg IdleRPG ALIGN evil
The above example will change alignment to evil for your character. Each one has their pros and cons, so be sure you are sure about changing.

Active Quests

Command: /msg IdleRPG QUEST
This will check if there is an active quest. Keep in mind as above, quests are only started when there are 4 players above the level of 40.
